A professional certification where science meets scent. Master the chemistry, botany, and therapeutic properties of essential oils — then learn to integrate them with precision into clinical massage and bodywork practice.
Aromatherapy is one of the oldest therapeutic practices in human history — and one of the most misrepresented. True clinical aromatherapy is grounded in phytochemistry, pharmacology, and precise blending protocol. It is far more than pleasant-smelling oils.
NYMI's 300-hour program gives you both dimensions: the science to understand why essential oils work at a molecular level, and the hands-on skill to apply them therapeutically in massage sessions. Students study over 60 essential oils in depth — their plant origins, chemical constituents, therapeutic actions, safety profiles, and blending affinities.
Graduates leave with the knowledge to formulate clinical blends, advise clients on home care, design aromatherapy massage sessions for specific conditions, and offer a service level that positions them above practitioners using oils as incidental additions.
